Auto pilot enhancements

Post by FredW »

Hi,
While playing around with the software,I find the autopilot mechanism interesting, although a bit poor on one point : it should allow to jump to any other clip in the layer

I think it could be extremely useful especially if you consider managing clip sequences triggered by columns.

Cheers,

Additionally, one feature I'd like :

Autopilot options ( jump to ) applicables for column and not only clips ( this one comes together with the previous 'jump to clip' ).

This is actually already a feature request. You can do a search on this forum for the previous discussion on this.

At the moment we're re-examining the autopilot feature altogether. Instead of glueing on features as an afterthought, we're thinking of how we can move to a timeline based workflow. This would allow for all current feature requests along this line, plus a whole lot more.

Downside is we won't be adding functionality to the current implementation any time soon.

Hi,

Well noted. I understand the approach you are willing to implement, which sounds a great option as well.
I think in the meantime I will use some midi sequencer software like Ableton in order to trigger composition 'autopilot'-like :)

I'll be looking forward for this new feature when it comes.

Any progress on this? It seems a shame a product marketed as a media server cant be programmed to play a sequence of clips with basic controls such as "loop for x length of time " or "repeat x amount of times"

The work around for now: Copy the clip you like as much as you like in row into the clipdeck with activated autopilot.

And one additional question: which mediaserver system can loop a clip for time x?

hi,
I have an idea for auto pilot,
when a clip is set to play next, and the clip reaches the end, it stops to a still image and then begins transition to the next,
this would be much smoother if for example the 3 seconds transition would begin 3seconds before reaching the end of the playing clip.

+1 for loop x times
