Hey guys,

have been meaning to bump this topic for awhile....

am having no luck getting mspinky to talk to the latest versions of arena( 4.1.3, 4.1.2, 4.1.1),
weirdly enough it works perfectly on beta 1 and 2 :S

am having no luck
This can be interpreted in soooo many ways that it becomes very hard to help you. Have you tried throwing salt over your left shoulder? Or picking up a four leaf clover? Or tapping on unvarnished wood when you see a black cat cross your path?

If you want serious help though, you're going to have to explain your process and where it's going wrong.

ok...
dont know if im using the correct terminology but,

I am experiencing difficulties syncing mspinky to arena's playhead via osc.

i have been using mspinky's AV maxi-patch in conjunction with beta 2 of arena up until now to get the video scratch effect desired. Which has been awesome!!!!1
, i was however hoping to use the newer versions of arena in conjunction mspinky to get the same results.

mspinky syncs instantly with the beta versions of arena when i select the 'osc out' button in the osc tab of the maxi patch. The playhead will jump to the position of mspinky and i am able to scratch straight away.
the playhead in versions 4.1.1, 4.1.2 & 4.1.3 of arena do not respond or change when the 'osc out' button is selected.
:(
Auto-scale position by file length is on and position prefix and values are correct.
osc port numbers in arena and mspinky are correct.

thanks,

We don't use Ms Pinky ourselves, and they don't seem to have a demo to try out the Maxi Patch app.

However, one common 'mistake' people make is that they send /activeclip/video/position/values, while trying to control an audio or AV clip. Could that be the case?

I'm not using Ms Pinky with Resolume (although I have done in the past) but I am sending OSC values from Ableton/MaxforLive to drive the playhead and can confirm it is working fine in Avenue 4.1.3

I'm sending values to /layerx/clipy/audio/postions/values n ( x and y are integers and n is a float between 0. and 1)

Its working fine at the moment. Remember to set the clip to pause.
