Resolume Avenue 4.1.3 keep on crashing.

Post by brick109 »

I just built a new machine to run my resolume avenue.

Specification:

Mainboard Gigabyte Intel S1155 Z77 with 3 PCI
Processor i7 3770 3.40GHZ
3 x PCIE ATI 7870 2GB DDR5 256bit Dual-X
2 x Kingston desktop DDR3 x 8gb

6 x Projectors connected to my machine
6 Layers with each layers contain 9 clips

My resolume just run on auto pilot, since im just using them to project my mapping at my convention hall wall.

I need to know why my Resolume keep on crashing every 15 - 30 minutes, I have monitored the system load and performances. Resolume didn't use more than 10% of the CPU and 20% or my memory.

I really hope someone can share something with me. Thanks

May be the reason is that you are using 3 GPU's...

From another post:

Even though sharing the load between multiple cards may sound good on paper, it's actually heavier in practice. It's a bigger load to share the textures, than it is to have a single card calculate the whole thing.

So in this case upgrading to a single Ati Eyefinity card would be a definite improvement.
If you do a quick search in this forum, you'll find a lot of info about....

Hi brick109,

I had something very similar in the past.
In my case it was a Quicktime movie with animation codec which caused the crash every 15-30 min.
Resolume even crashed when the clip wasn't active...but was active before.

Try to make a clean DXV composition and try again... could be one of thousand reasons.

This Animation codec issue was very hard to recreate... so it could be that this thing depends on my special system config . But you should give it a try.
