Raspberry Pi as distribution?

Post by KGDJ »

Hi all! Lighting tech here who is just getting into video systems. I run a Chamsys desk.

I'm looking to set up a basic two-projector system plus Arena 4. I've been playing with it for awhile now and quite like it. My issue is signal distribution: I can't afford a full-on media server and often work in spaces where more than 50' of signal cable is required.

What I would like to do is use a pair of Raspberry Pi's to distribute the video. Essentially, I would like to use a router to stream to the Pi's. They have an HDMI output on them.

Has anybody tried something like this? Can Resolume stream content to independent sources via the network? I can't seem to find any documentation saying it can. Thanks!

At the moment, Resolume does not support streaming video over a network.

If you have the option to run a couple of Cat5/6 cables up to the projectors anyway, why not use Cat5 HDMI/VGA/DVI extenders? Tested and working, cheap(ish) and simple to set up.
