bug? not all settings saved

maybe anyone can help me with the following.
before i continue, i like working with resolume (just bought the upgrade to version 4) and i ve checked a lot of diff. proggies. this is the best solution for what we are planning.

Operating System: win7/64/8gb ram/ssd for c:/videocontent on hd
Processor: i5/2,8
Videocard: geforce 460 - 2 x 720p (pci x16 ) & geforce 430 (pci x4) 1 x controlmonitor
resolume 3.2.2 rev.3828
controller: akai apc40
Codec: all videos in dxv/mov,320x240 to 1280x720, 25fps and 30fps
8 layers, 8 decks

a few problems here:
- when i save my composition, it dont saves the settings of all layers - opacity and volume are after a reload somewhere in the middleposition (looks like its always the same), but not in the saved state. i tried to start without the controller too...
not a mainthing, but in case of touring and stress, u know...

- when i do a deckchange somtimes the proggy crashes. i havent found any situation were i can reproduce this bug, but it happens at least every hour, dont depends on special deck. means i never finish my 3 hour set (in rehearsal-state) without 2 or 3 crashes. ok, no software is perfect, but this is way to often.

- i have asked that before, but just to be sure. there is no way to copy (or any similar) some columes (with clips and efx) from 1 deck to another? this is a mainproblem here, because i have some columes i need in all decks. to recreate that in all decks needs many hours of work (4 - 6 layers, each with efx x 8). bouncing it out to a videofile dont works well enough (2560x720).

- is there a way to see the fps of all displays? i just see the controllmonitor fps...
would be nice for finetune some stuff.

- plugins: any hints for usable plugins for resolume 3? they dont have to be freeware...

funny thing - in version 4 beta it opens correct.

is it possible to load a composition in version 4, save and load it in version 3?
that would solve some of my problems...

This is a known issue which is fixed in version 4.

Usually this has to do with the codec of the footage used in a particular deck. It's best to send us your logfile, so we can have a look at possible causes.

There is in Resolume 4 (ctrl-c, ctrl-v)

The fps is the indication of how many frames per second Resolume is currently able to process and display. It's not really related to individual displays.

plugins: any hints for usable plugins for resolume 3? they dont have to be freeware...

A search on our forum for 'FFGL plugins' will yield a few good ones and a few hidden gems.

Unfortunately not, and if it did, I don't think this would solve your settings issue, since that bug has been addressed for Resolume 4.

I'm going to use this topic since it seems to be what I'm dealing with.

I have a project file - BugHunt.avc - that was created with a project resolution of 640x480. When I load the project, then change it's output resolution to anything higher (i.e. 800x600), the effects rendering changes. I was told this is due to the solid color source being used no longer is at the same size as the project size. Okay, I can understand that, BUT when I save the modified project file and reload it, the changed rendering effects are gone (I am assuming because the solid color source loads at the same size as the project size).

But, I want the effect being rendered before the save & reload operation, and I cannot get it without loading the project file and then changing the settings again.

Is Resolume not saving & reloading all of the settings?
Is it a bug when Resolume's output is different after a save & reload of a project file?

This happens in 4.0 through 4.1.3 on Mac & Windows machines.

Thank you for continuing the discussion in another thread.

It was not clear to me from your earlier description that you were in fact saving and reopening the composition. You are correct that this causes the Solids to take on new settings, which should not be the case.

Thanks for the find, we'll open a support ticket.

In the meantime, in your particular case you can work around this by turning on the layer width and height. These will retain their settings, regardless of the composition size after saving and reopening.
