Can Arena do this? Masked layers stacked on top of slices?

Hi everyone,

I am developing a new live music/theatre/dance/multimedia show, and found Resolume Arena after becoming fed up with people telling me to "use Catalyst/Hippotizer" etc.

Looking at the requirements for the media server for the cyclorama, I have established that I will be projecting onto a screen approx 10m wide. I am intending to create content at 3540x1080px (2x 1920x1080 outputs with 300px soft edging). The two outputs will be set up using slices.

HOWEVER, I will also be wanting to layer additional clips/layers over the full size background - for example a live camera input, with a vignette mask on the far right of the projection area.

Is this something that Arena can handle? Not only outputting 2 slices of full background, but also additional - smaller - clips/layers with masks at different points on the background.

Sorry for the poor explanation (and image) - I'm in hospital at the moment, so am limited in my computer ability!

I think I've had a eureka moment...

I can mask and resize/reposition clips (including inputs) as I wish, over a composition of 3540x1080. Then set up the slices over the WHOLE comp - all layers.

So yes, I think I can do what I want

Final question - can I use gradient PNG masks in Resolume, ie to give the 'fuzzy edge' look to masks?

yep, arena will handle this no problem....just make a 3540x1080 comp and move stuff around inside it as you see fit

it's actually about 100x easier to do with arena than hippo or catalyst...I've owned all three systems, as well as pandoras box...

moved all my servers (or at least all my new servers) to arena because it's way cheaper and does way more
