Is it possible to use identical analogue 700 TLV cameras...

Post by inabox »

Hi,

The question comes from my experience trying to use cheap web cams on Arena, when I have like 4 identical cameras pluged in, Arena just "see" 1, if I try the Arkos Media Pro demo with the same set up it sees the 4 cameras, so all the drives are correctly installed.
The preference on cheap webcam is just the image, it produces realy nice effects with the change of light enviroment.
I tryed then diferent types of web cameras, arena is now seeing the 4 of them, but it's not a safe system, some times they present a black image, sometimes they freeze.
I was thinking in move to Sony eifio CCD security cameras with 700TVL conected to a PCIe video card with 8 video Inputs
Do you think I'm gone have the same problem of id cloning?

thanks in advance

JP

What I've done on the past is to send all my camera's into a video mixer, then capture the mixer output. It might not do what you want, but it's fairly inexpensive if you've got an old V4 laying around...

Thanks Stickygreen,

The idea could be usefull but in my setup doesn't match, I have everything cued by DMX, its a theater play!
In fact I think Im having problems with my motherboard ASUS P8P67 Rev 1, I'll upgrade the Bios soon and then I post the news about USB web cams plugged in. Some information on lenght of the cables I'm using this Lindy cables and they do a good job http://www.lindy.co.uk/usb-firewire/usb ... on-system/

oh, your using a desktop...

There are a few ways to solve your problem. First is to get multiple capture cards installed. I've had 3 BM intensity pro cards in my desktop machine, they are all controlled individually, and can be seen as individual camera's. This is probably the best and most versatile solution, that will also allow some use of HD cameras. But it's the most expensive.

So if you're just using composite, then what I've done in the past, is use different type of capture devices for each camera. I have a USB capture stick, plus a intensity pro, and I've also got a MXO2, each of these devices will show in resolume as a different input source..
