Transfer midi clip map- session to session?

Is there a way to keep the clip midi maps? You have to assign midi to every clip, takes a lot of time if you have a ton of clips. As it is now all clip midi mapping stays with the clip, would be cool if the mappings stayed but I could load new clips while keeping the mapping. I understand the the benefits of having the map stay with the clip, but it would save so much time while mapping clips.
