Audio inputs freeze while changing decks
Audio inputs freeze while changing decks
none of the audio driven effects respond when I change decks this just recently occurred is there a work around or known reason for this issue? i didn't notice the problem until i started prepping for an upcoming show on aug. 17th 2013. when i labeled my decks to the artist and finally swapped them. i'm unsure as to what else is needed info wise to solve but please advise. when i swap back to the first deck all the parameters respond again and unfreeze.

no one has had this issue?
Re: Audio inputs freeze while changing decks
I just tried a quick test, and it seems to work for me.
We can try to recreate it, but then we need more info (Mac/PC, soundcard used, where are you using the FFT, internal/external FFT etc etc).

Re: Audio inputs freeze while changing decks
Well, here's what I'm doing.
Set system output to play via Soundflower 2ch.
Set Soundlowerbed to play Soundflower 2ch to my headphones.
Set Soundflower 2ch as source of external audio FFT in the prefs of Resolume.
Play something in iTunes.
Trigger clip 1 in deck 1 to layer 1.
Set the scale of clip 1 in deck 1 to react to external audio FFT. At this point clip 1 starts bouncing nervously.
Switch to deck 2
Trigger clip 2 in deck 2 to layer 2.
Set the scale of clip 2 in deck 2 to react to external audio FFT. At this point both clips are bouncing.
Switch back and forth between decks. Both clips continue to respond to audio.
Perhaps I'm doing something differently from you?

Re: Audio inputs freeze while changing decks
thats what i have as well but maybe its just my computer it used to work fine than suddenly stopped working. i have many audio linked parameters running in layers clips and the composition. i was also wondering if maybe there is a way to have a chosen clip ignore all effects some looks you can only achieve through placing the effects on the composition. what if you were to want a clip to ignore the effect say a dj logo not wanting to be effected by a mirror effect that you'd placed on the composition.
Re: Audio inputs freeze while changing decks
Most of the time, you can achieve the look by switching the render order of effects and transformations: https://resolume.com/manual/en/r4/effects#render_order
