Ignore Masking

Post by pfelberg »

Not talking about alphas on videos, talking about PNG masks.
Let´s say have some masks in some layers and a global mask used in the composition.
For some reason I need the next playing clip to ignore masking, I mean, not to be affected by any masking and play full. That would be helpfull sometimes.

Although I can see how this can be helpful in a few cases, I don't see how we can implement it without adding an obscure 'ignore masking' tickbox in the clip menu. Which would make things very unclear and unintuitive.

Think of masks like effects. If you want certain clips to play with masking and others without, the most straightforward way is to apply the masks on the clip level, turn off masking when those clips are playing, or apply masking on the layer level and play those clips in an unmasked layer.
