Clear Mapping (Key, MIDI...) Reset Key mapping

Post by Electroguepard »

Sometimes you have a lot of thgings, and you want to reset.
Now you have to delete 1 by 1.
And sometimes you can left things on different maps that are in conflict...
Now you have to look everything to be sure that you don't left anything there.

RESET KEY MAPPING
If I make a KEY MAPPING using QWERTY, strange things happens because there is some conflict.
Should be fine to deactivate the default KEY mapping in order to use a own map without having conflict with default operations.

The problem is that Resolume 4 has no way of differentiating between the default key map, and what you added yourself. As far as it knows, there's only one key map, namely the current one.

The way to stay structured with this, is to erase the current map entirely before you start making drastic changes that could cause conflicts. You can do this in the bottom left of the interface when in mapping mode. For Midi maps, you also get the option to make new, load and save maps via the prefs.

For most people, this is only an issue you run into when just starting out. Once you get your shortcut flow going, your map probably won't require a lot of adjusting and you'll have less chance of conflicts. Until that point, you'll just need to keep an eye on what you're doing.

Having said that, for Res 5 we'll be adding easily accessible shortcut presets for all external controllers, as well as an easy look-up table to hunt for possible conflicts.
