QTAmateur can play DXV on Mavericks. Doesn't fix quicklook but at least you can double-click to preview things.

can't play dxv codec on OS X (in the system player)
Re: can't play dxv codec on OS X (in the system player)
I'm using Quicktime7 for now, but i sure do hope there's a fix on the way for this. Not being able to use quicklook makes it tedious to quickly scan my library while on a gig.

Hi,
Something new about this topic? What player/previewer do you use on Maverics? I've just recieved a new mac and downgrading is not an option, just a patch, and it's a dirty solution limited on time. Any suggestion for the future that is coming? Maybe a plugin for quicklook? An independent previewer?
Thanks for your work!

https://github.com/Marginal/QLVideo
quicklook plugin to view 3rd party videos, have not got time to deal with it at moment did not work straight away, think you have to assign mov's to play back by vlc or other application that supports DXV, though might be set up to play back on the container name (.mov) but the tech is there and if your files are not in mov container should work.

I have a Quicktime based thumbnail generator here, works well with DXV: https://github.com/lov/QLVJ/
A technical note here: QL plugins cannot access to the window server, which means generating thumbnails for QC compositions does not possible. QL plugins has no way to render animated content, like video, so at the current state of the QL architecture making a working DXV/HAP/whatever QL-previwerer is technically impossible yet.
