Proper tiling algorithm?

Post by dandaka »

Is there any way to achieve proper tiling algorithm for footage, that doesn't match composition parameters?

I need something like this:

To get this result, scale the clip to composition size first, and then apply the tile effect. Make sure you change the render order of the transform and the effect: https://resolume.com/manual/en/r4/effects#render_order

Even though you're scaling up and down, the image will stay crisp because of switching the render order.

Had no idea you could drag the transform up like that.

Joris, I know about this workaround, but actually it doesn't solve my problem.
Footage gets distorted proportions.

When I use Tile on composition this behaviour is logical.
But when I use Tile on clip, it doesn't make sense, except all your footage is exactly the size of composition.

I'm afraid I don't understand what you mean. Attached is a picture of a 500x500 circle tiled to 1280x720, maintaining both its aspect ratio and crispness.

Perhaps you can explain your problem again?

Joris, I can't get to your results. What I can get from Resolume is either borders or cropping of original footage.

I am using the effect FRParameters (http://www.1210visuals.net/index.php?op ... &Itemid=58) to transform the Content BEFORE the Tile-Effect (or videowall, mirror, etc.)
In Combination with the Transformparameters of the Resolumesoftware at the end you can now get what you want.

strangehead, can you please tell me order of effects and transformations to achieve needed effect? I can't figure it out.

You don't even need FRParameters, but it is awesome. Your problem is that the width and height of your clip don't match your composition. Make your 500x500 match the composition or scale until it fits.

PS. H.264 is terrible codec.
