Parameter input smoothing

Post by anthonydiehl »

I have seen a coupe little notes on something to this effect, but this is a big one on the shows I run.

Basically, it would be ideal if there was a switchable global feature to ease/smooth all parameter inputs (mouse and controller fader input). The goal here would be to be able to use your mouse to smoothly change parameters during a show. Currently, its a very chunky and jerky result that is VERY noticeable on screen. Holding down the alt/option key sets it to a finer scale, but its still not helpful as you can only move a very small distance. A simple global smoothing effect would be ideal!

For reference, this is commonly done in shows built with Touch Designer as well as a variety of pro-level media servers (Coolux Pandoras Box, etc). I've heard VDMX does something similar.

Basically, if I could switch on smoothing for all sliders/faders, I'd leave it on all the time (and assume many other would too). If it was per/parameter, even better!

Just a suggestion! Thanks for making killer software.

I misread this post and thought he was refering to a global audio input and "fall" setting which would be nice. Yes you can use an external mixer for the audio gain.
