composition master

im running the arena with one single output
at advansed output i creat 2 slices
first slice inputs from layer1 and the 2th from layer2.
they both input and output the same area in the screen.
when layer 1 and 2 have full opacity(different images) and master of comp is full it works just fine
and i can fade betwin 1 and 2 layer smoothly.
but when the master of comp is down below its 100% layer 1 is visible behind layer #2.

when running some tests turning down the comp volume seems to be working fine if you look at
the output monitor at the left down corner,but at my output screen it merges both layers.

i usually work with the master composition video volume
and i want to decrease master vol and still see layer #2 without layer #1 behind it.

is there a way to fix that?
maybe other way to do master volume?

I've run into this a couple times. Instead of using master opacity, just add a 3rd layer with a black solid on top of everything and use that layers opacity as your fade to black.
