Wheres the bottleneck?

Apologies in advance as im sure this has been beaten to death at some point- I did a search but after a minute or 2 the ADD kicked in and so I thought I would just re ask

I have a 2nd weekly show which means i now need a 2nd rig. I've been looking at the haswell quad or the ivy hex. Is it worth the added cash for hex core or not? I run 1080 and enough layers that I do get frame rate drop at times but I wonder is cpu cores the bottleneck? Anyways thanks for any advice you can give

Not worth the hex. Resolume uses so much of the GPU and HD speed that CPU is fairly between the chips. Getting a higher end GPU and extra or raid0 SSD's would help your performance.
