Setup for 5120x800 resolution.

Post by baustellen »

Hey Folks,
I would like to send a signal to 4 projectors with each 1280x800 resolution.
What kind of Computer would you recommend me, for smooth playback and mixing of of native 5120x800 content?
i7-4790K,
SSD 120 GB Samsung 840 EVO
16384 MB DDR3-RAM, 1600 MHz, Micron®/Elixir®/Samsung®
NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 750 Ti, 2048 MB GDDR5, VGA, DVI, HDMI, inklusive NVIDIA® GeForce Experience™

Could this guy handle it?

without a problem. but you have 4 outputs from the card and the gui takes one so I suggest you a Datapath X4 with a 2560x1600 resolution (2x2) and a 1280x800 comp size. yo can put every projector's content into different layers and arrange them with the advanced output.

Ah, right. But the Datapath seems quite pricey to me.
If I use a second, cheap, very simple graphic Card and use this one for the GUI. Is this possible?
Because, that would save a lot of money.

Get a matrox triplehead instead. Less potential issues and you don't loose performance, your already pushing it with a 750. I'd go with a 760.

I have had very good luck driving up to 6 screens (1 monitor and 5 projectors) with the AMD hd 5870 eyefinity 6 which is quite affordable. If you go that route, just make sure you use all active adapter.

The card running the GUI will do the rendering.(primary display adapter)
You could try the other way around, using a cheaper card for extra outputs.

Hello,

I use a regular setup, with one Nvidia 760 4GBRAM with one or two matrox triple head and 2 SSD kingston V300 in raid 0, and I get good results over 60fps

This weekend I used a machine with two Nvidia 760 4GBRAM to do a resolution of 4800x1400 pixels and 5 outputs (4 projectors and 1 led screen) and every thing went well.
(I only used two cards because I do not have the matrox to use, they were in other works)
2 projectors output 1920x1080
2 projectors output 1024x768
1 led screen output 1920x1080
UI screen 1920x1080

Baustellen, driving 4 projectors at 5120*x800 + main UI should be no problems how many layers will your composition be?
