Setting thumbnails of clips?

Post by dandaka »

Is there any way of setting thumbnails of clips?
Because generally my composition looks like this
http://take.ms/bfzD0
(because clips start from black BG)

I just did some experimentation with poster frames but that doesn't seem to change what Resolume displays in the thumbnail of clip!

Maybe the Resolume support team can shed some light as to which frame is selected when you load a clip because it doesn't seem to always be the first one. I have quite a few clips that start with black frame but somehow Resolume doesn't show them black in the thumbnail but I can't figure out which frame is selected and why. The one thing I know for a fact is that it's not the poster frame.

It takes a frame a few frames after the start of the video, based on a percentage of the total length of the video. I don't remember the exact percentage, but from the top of my head it's somewhere around 10%.

I did testing with some timer clips I use for confidence monitors and it appears that selects the frame that's 5% in so it shows 19:00for a 20:00 clip, 17:06 for an 18:00 clip, and 11:24 for a 12:00 clip.

Now Dandaka, that means your clips have fairly long black trailers, right? Why don't you shorten the black trailer to be under 5%.

As alternatives to long black trailers, here is a few things you can use:
  • - use the beat snap to delay the clip and
    - animate the opacity fader
    - use a black slide (I use Solid Color in Sources with brightness set to 0) with the duration set to what you need and set the autopilot to next clip

Hello, Resolume could see too much black, and then automatically select another picture, the lighter has shares. The same is also true of only white images, only the other way around.

The black level Shares or White value Shares and determine the thumbnail may change.
The black level of play, or White percentage of value, and determine the thumbnail may change.
... From 95% Black or from 95% White = Change an image.

Hallo, Resolume könnte zu viel Schwarz erkennen, und dann automatisch ein anderes Bild wählen, das hellere Anteile hat.

Das gleiche, gild auch für nur weiße Bilder, nur anders herum.
