I was interested to hear some of your feedback on using Maschine as a midi controller for Resolume. I started out with borrowing an apc40, but after using it, I couldn't help but look at my Maschine and ask my self "Why am I not using this?!"
So I started working on mapping with control editor to make the temate and name the knobs/buttons for the display. I was able to map a lot of my major layer/comp controls as well as composition, layer, clip knob pages. I also mapped the pad pages with layer focus. Since the pads are set to pad pages and you can't map the "group" pages unless it's put of group mode, I set group A to control the first 16 clips of the selected layer, group B to control 17-32, and so on.
For the most part, the controller works well. Only issue I've had so far is the layer select buttons I mapped sometimes need to be pressed two-three times and a few knob controls are controlling two knobs at once even though they are assigned to different midi channels. I hope to work out these issues a bit more this week, and might post the template up once it's a little bit more cleaned up.
I have done a little mapping in the last but this is the first time I've done custom mapping with Maschine. And this is my first full on mapping project With Resolume. Anyone else working with this controller? Any tips?

Re: Maschine controller with Resolume
I'm using my Maschine controller for Resolume too!
Instead of trying to do everything with just MIDI, I chose to use PureData between the Maschine and Resolume.
My patch talks to Maschine via MIDI and to Resolume via OSC, and keeps track of everything in the middle.
So far I have complete DJ style tempo control to beatmatch the visuals. Tap tempo, nudge back/fwd, fine-med-coarse BMP adjustment, half/double time, and resync.
The first 6 dashboard controls of the active clip are always on the knobs across the top.
The pad grid is similar to yours but, split top/bottom 8 to layers 2 and 3, then banked with the group buttons so 64 clips per layer.
Whole composition blackout and RGB Invert with a knob and a toggle for each.
And the record button starts/stops Resolume recording, go figure
I plan on doing a whole post about all this on my blog with many more features and a video.
I may share my PD patch and Maschine template if there is interest. I will post back on this thread with links when I've done it.

j4s0n.c: I'd love to read more about this. My Maschine is sitting there doing nothing and I'd love to put it to work!j4s0n.c wrote:I'm using my Maschine controller for Resolume too!

Re: Maschine controller with Resolume
Just bumping this up, been doing some searching but haven't seen many tutorials on linking Maschine/Resolume. Anyone have any leads?
