Is your intent to have 12 @ 1920x1080 projectors each with a different signal which would mean 4 @ 5760x1080 discrete comps in 4 media servers?

If so, why don't you use 3 servers with 7680x1080 comps and Datapath X4 units each outputting 3840x2160 broken down into 4 @ 1920x1080 which will be much more reliable than the Matrox TH2G in the long run. Then buy a MacBook Air to control the three media servers using Vezer?

You should be using smpte for all of this, and i'm surprised your using resolume for an install like this. I certainly wouldn't.

yea, smpte or nothing, even triggering computers at the same time via midi may cause one or two frames of latency/delay. Sharp eyed client will notice clean cuts. Also smpte can be trigged by a cd player, which costs nothing and any client can figure out.

@Oaktown - Makes sense. I considered using datapaths, but as you probably already know, the cost of one data path is 3 times the cost of a triple head. I can try maybe getting servers with a little lower specs if I need to buy datapaths. I'll try reworking the numbers.

@drazkers - I'm comfortable with Arena. What would you use? Any suggestions would be helpful. Can you please help me out with a step by step guide on how to set it up with SMPTE? Or a link to a tutorial or something. What external hardware would I need besides the CD player. I've never used SMPTE before.

Thanks.

4 TH2G + 4 servers should be comparable in price to 3 Datapath X4 + 3 servers.
