Is there a fool proof way to tell if your video has a DXV codec or not?
I used to be able to tell because my DXV videos wouldn't play in Quicktime; however now they all play fine. I've just been given a bunch of clips to use for a show and the person said they are jumble; some have DXV whilst others do not.
I'm a bit lost as what the best way is separate them other than looking for a big frame rate drop when i pop it into Resolume!
How to tell if Video has DXV codec or not?
Re: How to tell if Video has DXV codec or not?
DXV = dont run in VLC but run in quicktime / XN view
Rest = play in VLC
thats my method, also if it play in quicktime then it run in resolume as well ( my system)

Also, don't forget about the clip tab:

Just to complete this...a bit faster way to identify your clips could be the usage of GSPOT. Its a small video-analyser. Oldy but goldy.
Home of Gspot
You can identify your clips just by drag them into gspot. Codec DXDI is the DXV codec.
