Joris I trust you when you say "In the current codec field, PhotoJpeg is horribly outdated, and I don't really see it as a valid alternative to anything anymore. The quality is terrible for its file size, and its playback is silly slow" but then why is it still the only option to record anything in RESOLUME ?
is it foresee to change for another default codec or to have choice?

When we first made the recording feature, PJpeg was the only codec that could compress in realtime. We're working on rendering straight to DXV2, DXV3, PJpeg and possibly ProRes ( if Apple will let us ).
