3D Rotating Logo

Post by mj101 »

Noobie here.

Is there a way to achieve this effect in Resolume alone? Or do I have to render it in Blender? Or do I have to do everything using Quartz Composer?

Thank you

this looks pre-rendered.
is doable in quartz too, with realtime quartz lighting, which you could adjust from resolume.

if you don't need the depth of the object you could rotate a 2d still image, (which would then disappear for a moment when rotation is at 90degrees.

Thank you for the quick response.

I've tried rotating it in 2D with quartz and also with Resolume.
Is it possible for a PNG to be extruded (with depth)?
And if so, how can I rotate it with depth?

Thanks

You would need to create the 3D model for example in cinema4d, then import that into quartz, using a mesh patch then it can be rendered.
I am no expert in that yet, but YouTube has some nice tutorials how to do that.

You could use Oleg's FFGLVolume and animate the Y angle. PC only I think though.

Magic Visuals supports a wide range of 3D model types which can be rotated and piped into Resolume.
