Hi all
My name is Phil and I'm new to the world of Resolume and Vision systems. I'm a lighting designer but have a new project that my company has asked me to tackle.
SO.... the project I'm working on is for a casino that already has a current vision system however we are installing a new 3 tiered led screen chandelier in the center of there venue. The venue has video content that triggers when there is a winner and this runs HDMI to all the screens around the venue.
With the new screen the want to have abstract visuals and custom content for advertising for most o the time (so just on a loop or auto) but when there is a winner they want this to display the same visuals as all the other screens around the venue.
I have the black magic intensity shuttle already and would like to know if it is possible to run their HDMI feed into the capture card and then have it automatically trigger in Resolume when this HDMI feed receives signal.
Could you convert the audio from the HDMI to midi and have the midi trigger the playback of there capture card?
If you can then once the playback is finish can it automatically switch back to the normal content?
Anyone have ideas?

Hmm....
The first thing you have to look at is how is the other system triggered, if it is via a GPIO, MIDI or some other way. Then from there you can then figure out how to best integrate, the interconnection, and playback of the live feed from the BMD.
This can be a simple as a MIDI note fired from a simple midi circuit when there is a +5 volts signalling a winnner from any of the machines, and that will trigger the clip/live feed to play for the duration till it receives a +0 volts which will switch it back to the previous loop or disengage that possible top layer where it is on.
Many ways but would need a better understanding of the triggering mechanism in place, instead of re-inventing the wheel.

I would agree with Chen
What you are trying to do is some pretty in depth automation/integration that resolume isn't really built for. Find the original trigger source, be it 5v, dmx, midi or whatever and use that into resolume, I can't think of any easy way to have resolume trigger off audio like that and give the desired effect. It would be possible with secondary software such as max/pd to listen to the audio stream and send a midi message that would play the winners clip, but programming is a little more intense if you haven't messed with those programs before.

thanks guys sorry it took so long to reply been busy over seas on some projects but unfortunately our client ended up declining this project so I didn't get to go through with it
