Source as slice

If you could make this a feature of v4 that would be awesome, but more of a request for v5.

Being able to use the input selection of slices to grab an item from the source list directly (spout, cameras ...)

The closest thing I can think of is putting a source on its own layer then making a slice that only uses that layer as input.

Exactly what I do now. Just trying to cut down on layer usage for special case stuff

Granted, I have a rather unique usage case, but sometimes the number of layers I need to get something done gets a little out of control (on top of all normal content that I run). I normally run 5 content layers and 6 routing layers, but can get as high as 15 routing layers based on event or what the owner of club wants for the night (sometimes on the fly, which makes it even more interesting). I'll also be adding more screens soon which will need yet another layer just for text or whatever they want

I've heard Edwin mumble about some ideas along these lines a few times. I'll let him know there's someone out there that would appreciate it ;)

Thanks! I really don't expect this anytime soon, or at least until we can have some midi/osc control over advanced output ;)
