I missed seeing this performance at a festival I worked this summer, but after seeing videos, i'm completely blown away by this VJ style.
Does anyone have any idea on how he does this?

No idea how he does it but this is a mirrored feedback effect on a transformed sprite...

Very nice work indeed!

Perhaps it's because I'm using Big Fug Feedback

He draws live with a wacom tablet. Not sure about the software.

one thing I'm noticing watching the videos is that his "delay/feedback" effect still has the animations playing as the image echoes around. Not just a frozen slice of a frame. and somehow he has a Hue rotate effect with a delay through the trails. and they also fade away after a certain time, or he can quickly do a clear of the whole canvas

I had an opportunity to play with Andrew's set-up a few years ago at the Envision Festival where we were both playing. At that time he was using a particle generator, I think it was ParticleIllusion, but don't remember the exact name. He programs a ton of his imagery, which is brilliant in and of itself, into the program as 'brush tips,' which he then activates live with his wacom tablet and stylus. These particles then reiterate throughout the screen as he draws, and he can change the graphic with a push of the stylus' button.
I saw him again at the Envision Festival this year, and he was doing the same thing with the particle program, but it appears that he is now Syphoning that program through Resolume. I saw a few pics of him performing at the Dead's 50th shows and it looked like he was using the same set-up.
His work is definitely in its own class, especially as still images.
