I apologize the newbie Q here but I am really trying to find a solution.
I know this is against the idea of Layers...
Is there a way to have lets say a 5 sec dissolve between 2 clips - Column 1 and 2 if they are on the same layer?
Any effect?
Thanks for any tip.
I am new to Resolume.

Yes
Have a look at this section in the manual:
https://resolume.com/manual/en/r5/layer ... ransitions
Use the slider with the T on it (T for transition or time or whatever
) to adjust the length between 0 and 10 seconds. By default it is set to 0 seconds. Click the button below the slider to change the transition. By default it is set to alpha, which is just a fade.
If you have clip1 (in column 1) active, simply trigger clip2 (in column 2) to begin the transition.

Keep in mind you can also create quick dissolves using two layers and the animated timeline feature
And if you want to do nice dissolve with movies that are longer than 10 seconds, the layer router is the way to go (lots of threads on the topic)
