Dual processor socket mobo

Sorry if there has been a thread with this topic... i just searched but didnt find any

- Does anyone have experience with a dual cpu socket mother board? (amd or intel cpu)

Based on logic, if for example i have a mobo with 2 cpu´s, performance should be even more awesome. I know there are great cpu´s with many cores and bla bla bla... but what about the chance of getting even 2 awesome cpu´s working together....
i´m not an IT expert, so maybe regarding Resolume Arena´s architecture this would not have any increase in performance at all.
Lately, all my works have been using comps about 9000 px width, or even sometimes using 9 outputs from Arena... I know i´m pushing Arena, love this software... but i´m just curios if having two cpu´s on a mobo with 2 cpu socktes will increase performance.... i´m looking forward to upgrade my hardware.

I dont think there will be any performance improvement in resolume having the additional cpu as resolume is not going to be using all of even 1 cpu in a single cpu system. It is definitely not worth the money to get dual cpus + a dual socket motherboard. I would stay with a single cpu system and put extra money towards faster storage or a better gpu.

Yes I'm totally agreeing with t13swift! Get yourself a motherboard that with an M.2 slot so that you can run your OS on a x4 PCIe 3.0 M.2 SSD drive and invest in a great GPU.

If you do the media converting on the machine, then a second processor would speed up the converting process.
So No benefit for resolume, but you could speed up workflow in a given scenario.
