Glitch on the last frame of a looping video clip

Post by malart »

Hi, on the last frame of a looping video clip it dims noticeably with ~ 60 alternate darker and lighter bands which results in an obvious glitch on looping. The video loops (1920x1080, 29.97 FPS, DXV 3.0, High Quality with Alpha) were created in Pr CS6 and loop perfectly in Pr with no banding/dimming discernible in the last frame of the clip. I am using Resolume 5 and my laptop has Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-4720HQ CPU @ 2,60GHz / 16.0 GB RAM / 64-bit system type / 500 GB SSD / GeForce GTX 960M (4096 MB available memory). Any thoughts as to how to get rid of this please? Thanks.

Is your clip rendered with fields (interlaced)?

Try re-rendering your clip at 30 instead of 29.97 and without fields

Brilliant Oaktown, thank you! All the banding (the obvious glitch) has now gone and there is a barely noticeable "flicker" on some clips so I am going back over the procedure for making the loops (cutting clips, moving the front clip to the end-clip position and putting a cross-dissolve at the join) to make sure I haven't messed-up the process. Once again many thanks for your suggestions.
