Full screen from menu selection

Post by leadedge »

I wonder if this is repeatable by anybody else with Arena 5.0.1.
I am testing plugins fullscreen and get stuck with this every time.

This is as expected :
ctrl+shift+1
Goes full screen
ctrl+shift+D
Returns from full screen

The problem is using the menu first :
Menu : Output - Fullscreen (DISPLAY 1 ctrl+shift+1)
Goes full screen
ctrl+shift+D
Nothing happens - stuck full screen

The only way out is :
ctrl+shift+1
Switches to leftmost cell effect
ctrl_shift+D
Returns from full screen

Some flag not set if the menu is used ?

I can replicate.

It seems to me it might be to do with either window focus or clearing of key combinations.

If I switch between display 1, 2 and disabled using hotkeys it works as expected.

If I menu select Output|Display 2 and then hotkey to disable (ctrl+shft+D) the output isn't disabled. If I then click anywhere in the app and then hotkey, it disables. This leads me to the focus idea.

Also, if, instead of clicking on the app I continue to click hotkeys (ensuring Ctrl+Shft and combinations of 1,2 and D) sometimes columns 1 or 2 will be activated. This leads to either a focus or combination idea.

Finally, after a column is triggered I re-acquire the ability to hotkey disable the output.

This is all with nothing running (except when the column get accidentally triggered) so no plugins involved.

Not able to test at the moment, but I ran into something similar with composition mapping this past week. I had to disable the Intel Hot Keys under my Intel Video panel. I mention because I remember those keys. I will try to test tomorrow.

There is indeed a focus problem when using the menu. It's been on our radar since the beta, so far we didn't have time to properly look into it.

You can still use ESC to get back to the main UI.

OK Joris. Esc just makes it worse for me. If I hit Esc nothing happens. Then ctrl-shift-1/ctrl-shift-d doesn't work either, until I click once on the screen. Then an arrow cursor appears and ctrl-shift-1/ctrl-shift-d is necessary again. Hope that helps when you get round to this.
