Hello there,
I like to put 2 or 3 vga outputs on my laptop. I like to make one very wide screen with it. 3 is best but 2 will work also.
Can I do this by simply buy a vga splitter for like 10 euro's and do the manual 'output settings' from resolume website? Or isn't it just that easy?
Hoping for clear answer on how i can start with 2 or 3 beamers on my laptop.
This is my laptop:
Processor : Intel core i7-4810MQ CPU 2,8 Ghz
RAM 2x 4 GB
64 bits, x64 processor
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960M

Re: 2 or 3 vga beamers on laptop
you need a matrox triplehead.
vga splitters show the same image on their outputs.
search the forum for triple head, you'll find good info how to set it up.
if you have a gamer laptop from msi or asus they have multiple outputs which can be used at the same time, so you may not need any external hardware at all.

Re: 2 or 3 vga beamers on laptop
Thank you Raven.
I've got an gaming laptop from xnotebooks. Maybe it has mulitiple outputs that can be used at same time as well? How can I check that out?
My laptop has one vga output. How can i connect 2 or 3 vga beamers to that? Maybe I have to use the hdmi somehow? Or do I still need a vga splitter?
Matrox triplehead is not an option because of the price. I have no budget but if I have to spend like 50 euros it is ok.
Hope to get answers. I have to finish my artwork in 9 days

Re: 2 or 3 vga beamers on laptop
As said before, you can´t simply use a VGA splitter. It will display the same image in every projector/beamer.
You need a computer with more video outputs or the Matrox Dual or Tripple Head is the way to go.
Dell also have available similar devices as the Matrox, so you better check their prices to compare.
Yes, you gotta check if you can use your HDMI and VGA outputs at the same time. If you can, you can already setup two projectors as you said it could work out for you.

Connect the outputs up.nora wrote:Thank you Raven.

These laptops I mentioned have both a VGA and a HDMI connector. (or you could maybe find a Displayport too)
If you find the two physical outputs then only sure way to know if they work at the same time is connect a monitor or projector to them.nora wrote: My laptop has one vga output. How can i connect 2 or 3 vga beamers to that? Maybe I have to use the hdmi somehow? Or do I still need a vga splitter?

Displayport to hdmi or hdmi to vga adapters are relatively cheap.
If the connected monitors don't show up as monitors in windows display settings then you won't be able to use the 2 projectors without a tripleHead form one output.
A simple splitter just makes a copy of the input to two or more outputs, that's not what you need.

Re: 2 or 3 vga beamers on laptop
It looks like the Xnotebooks with the GTX 960M have at least VGA & HDMI and some even have a third MiniDP output so you should be able to get 2 outputs no problems and possibly 3.
Are your projectors VGA only or do they have DVI input as well? If they have DVI input rather than using an HDMI to VGA adapter, you could just connect HDMI to DVI since it's the same protocol.
