Resolume, OS, and content all on same drive?

Post by lightbx »

Hello All,

I can't remember where I saw this recommended, but I think it is common that people suggest that Resolume is installed on the same drive (SSD) that you boot OS from, with all VJ content on the same drive. Is there a specific advantage to this? I.E. more throughput, faster renders, etc.? Would this greatly eliminate crashes/bugs?

I ask because I deal with large quantities of content, most of which has to be kept on secondary drives (internal, PCIe SSDs). An IT professional said he always learned to install OS on one drive, and applications/documents on other drives. (Some applications always have to be in C: though).

Also looking to build a rackmount PC, so if I can boot off of a PCIe drive, I may just want to get the biggest PCIe SSD I can, only have the night's content there, and store everything upcoming/previous elsewhere.

Cheers!
