How to assign a layer to an area and quick adjust the mask

Post by etienne971 »

Dear resolute staff,
Till now, I can't achieve a very simple project on arena 4 : a magic house. So how to ? ;-)
Well, I use only one beamer to a white wall with 1 bumped square for the door and 1 for the window.

Layer1 contain the door textures for square1
Layer2 contain the window textures for square2
Layer3 contain different wall textures to be mapped on all except the squares

I don't wan't to use mask files for that as we plan a tour with the show and the beamer will never be à the same place nor with the same angle.
So is it possible in the advanced output options, to manage these 3 areas and to have a quick way to re-adjust the masks when required ?

Thank you
Warm regards
Etienne

Do you want to map the texture or just crop it to fit your door and window areas?

Hello,
Well, I think it is better to crop the door and the window and to map the wall.
And may be I'll leave a free layer on top to add the possibility for instance to insert an animation of a dog walking in front of the wall and the door.
Best regards
Etienne

Assign your layers to slices in the advanced output and used input masks for your door & window and output transformation for the wall texture to adjust between shows.

The slices should be in this order from top to bottom:
Slice 4: Layer 4 as Input Source (dog animation with alpha channel)
Slice 3: Layer 1 as Input Source with an inverted input mask to crop the texture to match the door
Slice 2: Layer 2 as Input Source with an inverted input mask to crop the textureto match the window
Slice 1: Layer 3 as Input Source mapped using the Output Transformation to match the house
