I experienced a very similar issue while running Resolume 5 on Windows 8.1.
Any time when I selected Display 2 (either when Display 2 was set as my tv screen, or when Display 2 was set as my laptop screen), Resolume froze, no and black screen on Display 2.
When setting the output to Display 1, everything worked fine, the problem only occurred when I tried to set the output to Display 2.
Tried to reinstall Resolume/integrated and dedicated GPU drivers, downloading DXV codec, OpenGL drivers, Quicktime, and any program that might help/effect Resolume.
I had no luck, nothing worked...
...until I decided to install Windows 7 as my Op system, and from there on Resolume worked as a charm
I still don't understand the problem, neither the solution mechanics, but it worked, I hope this will be useful to some users in the future
