Hi all,
Last weekend I ran into some serious troubles during the soundcheck of my setup, I use an Asus N76VM with an i7, 16 gig ram and an ssd. Videocard: Nvidia GeForce GT 630M. I run Ableton and Resolume Avenue 4.5.1 simultaneously and with a VGA connection this works fine.
Now my problem:
-connected to beamer via HDMI
-extended desktop works fine
-Ableton works fine
-I select fullscreen on second output and my laptop slows down extremely.
-Ableton CPU load reads 110%, audio is mangled.
-Resolume framerate drops extremely.
In the end I found this (cheap) HDMI to VGA converter and everything worked fine.
So my question is, what is wrong with my HDMI and how to fix this? Thanks!
Thanks!
HDMI problems while VGA works fine
Re: HDMI problems while VGA works fine
anyone? :S
is this normal and do I have to buy a HDMI > VGA converter or is there a different fix?

Re: HDMI problems while VGA works fine
Could it be that your computer starts using the HDMI audio output as its primary audio device? That would explain the audio getting crazy in Ableton as well.

Hi Joris,
Thanks for your reply!
No according to Ableton it still uses my Asio drivers for my Focusrite interface. I've tried multiple settings (incl audio drivers) in Resolume but with no luck..
The hdmi works fine on its own while not sending anything to it from Resolume though, only when triggering a clip the mayhem starts!

Re: HDMI problems while VGA works fine
Have you tested your HDMI port with just Resolume?

s.th. come to my mind :
is your projector with Wlan or somehow in the Network ?
this in combination with the Network via HDMI it could be that your Laptop recive some osc signals
Maybe something you can check

Re: HDMI problems while VGA works fine
ok I finally had the time to work it out!
and ehm... it's rather stupid, for some reason my Asus laptop decided to switch to the integrated graphics card when using HDMI instead of using the Geforce GPU
