Hello there,
Been new to the forum in the writers point of view, but reading thru it last few months. I got somehow used to the Resolume Arena instead of Avenue, but am now getting into trouble with live feeds.
Few days ago, I bought a Canon XL2 video camera and got it connected via the Pinnacle 510 USB capture card. I've been using this hardware before with my old camera and it worked well. Now I have a problem and maybe some misunderstanding, regarding all the SD, HD, PAL, NTSC and all other terms, that I have to get over them.
Well my problem is next - when I connect the camera via S VIDEO I get no input signal in Resolume. But if I use the RCA output on my cam (yellow video chinch) I get positive signal, but the picture is somehow "distorted". In the attached picture bellow I marked the point (line) where my picture gets distorted. The red line should obviously be at the bottom of the screen but is somewhere above the middle. The red line should be the top and bottom of the picture. I hope it is clear enought what the problem is.
I would really appreciate any help!
BR, Dean

Re: Arena 5.0 + Pinnacle 510 USB
Hi all,
after digging into it - starting Arena, closing it, disconnecting the cam and reconnecting, I somehow achieved the picture to show as it should be. But later on again the same problem.
I don't realy know what (if something) I did, that caused the picture to show right. The only thing I realised is that in that time, the picture was OK, Resolume stated the source resolution as 720 x something. Now when the picture is distorted again it states 704 x 480...
Hope somebody could help me out of this.
Thanks in advance!

Re: Arena 5.0 + Pinnacle 510 USB
And me again,
figured out what the problem is. Why is that I don't know, but the goal is achieved.
The problem happened because of the composition resolution (which was set to 640x480 by default). As I imported the video source it "stretched" to 704 X something and the picture was distorted.
If I start Resolume and change the composition resolution to anything bigger than the real input resolution of my camera source (which is 720x480 SDI), then the problem disappears and the picture is well.
Even if I changed the composition resolution after importing the video source, the problem persists. In order to get it right, I have to set the right comp res before importing the video source.
