different program window or dekstop area as Resolume source?

Can you somehow have a specific window on your desktop (of a program which doesn't support Spout) or a desktop area as a video source for Resolume Arena 5? (on Windows).

Mapio has this function, but it's a paid plug in (or stand-alone version)

Check it out- it has tons of other cool features, too like Kinect support,
Instagram feed, GLSL, etc

I dont understand where the program you mentioned would fit in this process? Screen area from Desktop as input to Mapio -> Mapio as input to Resolume?

For this system to work well, I believe you'd have to dedicate a physical or virtual screen to the software you want to use.

In Mapio create a slice, set your display output to the resolution of the screen, select your display under [Sources>Capture Devices] and turn on Spout under [Destination]

In Resolume, drop the Mapio Spout Source on a clip and you should now be able to work with the screen.

I only see the webcam in the list of capture devices, no desktop.

How about just creating a virtual camera from a desktop region with a relevant software?
