Hi there!
I have worked with Arena for a couple of years and recently bought Arena 5. I would love to start working with LED strips via DMX. But I have no clue where to start. Do you have some ideas of a good basic kit? What are the core things to know, when mapping on LED strips? Has anybody tried the cheap LED strips from Ali express, and if you have, do they do the job? Have you come across any good tutorials on this topic?
I would start today if I just knew where to start, so I thought this forum would be my first stop... Hope you guys have some input on this.

LED Mapping start kit
Re: LED Mapping start kit
if you are into diy, a raspberry pi with OLA should be able to drive WS2801 led strips via spi, that should be pretty cheap to set up.

Re: LED Mapping start kit
Thank you Ravensc! I will start digging in to it this week...
I already have a Chamsys dual universe usb DMX dongle. I use it in my show as it is today, but would love to enhance the show with some LED mapping. How could I connect som WS2801 to it? Do I solder a special cable or do I need something more in between?
