Hello guys!
I am planning to implement such thing:
Going to install Resolume on PC and then signal from videocard (GTX 960-2Gb) will be transfered via HDMI cable to the Avercaster hd duet, that will convert video input to the udp steam.
So the question is how long HDMI cable could be? Distance between PC and Avercaster is about 20 meters, will it work fine or I need to buy some additional devices?
Any recomendations will be deeply appreciated!
GTX 960 and 20 meters HDMI cable
Re: GTX 960 and 20 meters HDMI cable
it could work with a very good quality cable,
I would get an extender like this : http://www.aten-kvm.com/aten-ve800-hdmi ... -extender/
I have the DVI version which has two rj45 ports also, but it works over a single UTP cable, but I have to set the resolution manually.

Or you can look into the future. It's a different price point but much better than the old KVM systems will be an HDBaseT setup such as http://www.gefen.com/kvm/gtb-uhd2irs-el ... d_id=15118 (list price is $500 but you can find this on eBay for usually around $350)
I use these all the time and you can get both VESA and computer resolutions (up to 4K Ultra HD @ 60Hz 4:2:0 or 30Hz 4:4:4) as well as RS232 and 2-way IR over one CAT6a cable up to 100M with no latency and no degradation! And the best part is that you don't have to power the Rx unit because it uses POE.

Checked that device, looks quite good and price is reasonable. Have you used Aten video extenders by yourself?ravensc wrote:it could work with a very good quality cable,

Re: GTX 960 and 20 meters HDMI cable
I've brought myself this 30m HDMI cable for testing. There where pretty much good reviews about it. And what shall I say?....It works perfect in any situation! ...So in my eyes a good and cheap alternative.

Re: GTX 960 and 20 meters HDMI cable
I've heard there is HDMI that has a powered spine that is supposed to help amp the signal for runs longer then 50ft.
I've never tried one before but yeah around 50ft is where there is a bit of signal lost at 1080p. It might not be very noticeable at 65ft.
But running black magic HDMI converters to SDI is definitely going to do the trick but its like a $400 solution for 2 converters at each end and the SDI cable for the run.

Re: GTX 960 and 20 meters HDMI cable
20 meters is on edge.. It can work for you, or not.. Depends on quality of cable, resolution and I/O devices.. You can try to use shorter cables and put the cheap active HDMI splitter (powered) between them, to refresh signal. Sdi solution with Blackmagic converters is fine.. Or, there is an option with ethernet, as said Joris and Oaktown. And the last one, you can buy a cable HDMI fibre HDMI, but I don´t have experience with that..
Edit: But the cheapest solution will be with two cables and HDMI (DVI) repeater..
