(I noticed this trying to get a 4k composition benchmarking for a new project.)
when I disable Global effects and blend modes, and I fade out a clip,
for a split second the clip disappears, and then reappears and fades out correctly.
for this video I took a large file playing in 2 layers to slow down the rendering so you can better see what happens, but this is noticeable at 25-30 fps too.
video disappears for a frame with gl.eff disabled on fadeout

This happens to me too.

Toggling global effects and blend modes should have gotten a lot more maintenance love than it has, and it doesn't really work well with the new Arena 5.
It's going to be axed in a future release.

@ Joris, any chance you guys can get this fixed for the next installment (5.0.3 or 5.1)?
Being able to turn off the [Global Effects & Blend Modes] is such a great way to increase overall performance that it's very much needed.
