when previewing png files with alpha,(snapshots from resolume)
the alpha areas of the file are much more transparent in the preview when the clip is not playing.
(at 70% AlphaBlend layer opacity a snapshot of this layer is almost not visible in the preview.)
haven't tried with DXV.

Just wanted to chime in and say that I'm experiencing something similar with built-in sources. When I attempt to Preview clips that were created with built-in sources, a majority of the time they have issues rendering properly in the Preview Monitor. Sometimes they will intermittently appear and preview fine and then stop working properly again. Most of the clips do have an alpha channel, so it could be related to this issue.
