hi all, first time poster.
before I always used Resolume on powerful PCs and Macs, but now a system was needed where a little computer can display content on itself. The Asus T200 was liked by size and other outer requirements, so I have asked for a demo one tot try it. I knew the hardware is very bad, but all I need is one HD image, either on its main screen (full screen over the resolume interface, and I'll just use the keyboard shortcuts) and/or its HDMI output.
So I have played around, and first it looked bad. One thing I always note an 'empty' fps, what is displayed when there is no output activated and nothing is playing. When I turned it on first time the empty fps was 50, and I was just barely able to show one HD stream. Then I played around in W8.1, tuning things a bit but not much (energy savings off, global off,) and then started Resolume to see an empty fps of 120, and the little machine was able to play two full screen streams (one 1920x1080 and one 1280x720) with a decent 35 fps.
being very happy I ordered 5 machines, they came in...and they are all crap. I have to give the demo back, and I cannot figure out what is wrong. Activity monitor show nothing problematic, CPU is at 50%, RAM usage is around 55%...I know the Atom has a really crappy GPU, but this is really not asking much, and I have seen it working...any idea? What other things to check, and what else can I optimize? Thanks
