Key mapped to selected layer

Post by DHoude »

I was wondering if there is a way to map a key to a selected layer. For instance, I want to eject a clip on the currently selected layer.

I am not doing many shows yet and I am just trying to learn to use the keyboard more efficiently for live events at the moment.

When creating your keyboard shortcuts, change the focus from deck to layer in the bottom left.

Awesome, very close but there seems to be a bug. I have set to layer and mapped a key to the X. The one issue I seem to have is the my "Shift X" shortcut seems to always effect the lowest layer (where it was mapped) and whatever layer is selected.

So if Layer 1, 2 and 3 are playing clips. I press "Shift X" with layer 3 selected and Resolume ejects Layers 1 + 3. It even shows like I am pressing both buttons at the same time. So I see the layer 1 + 3 "X" both light up. Or really any selected layer and layer 1 for that mater.

So it looks like "Shift X" persistently ejects layer 1 (where it was mapped) and whatever layer is selected at the same time.

x is mapped to the active layer in the default application key map,
you can remove the defaults by activating the application key mapping and clicking Remove All
edit: actually strike that, I can see on my R5 that x is mapped to layer 2 clip eject, in Deck Focus but I don't know if it's there from the factory setting or did I map that.
So anyway, most likely you'll have a double key mapping going on.

Thanks, I am mapping Shift + X only. The X is referring to the on screen, Layer X (eject) key.

You've got a duplicate mapping.

Aside from having Shift-X mapped to the active layer eject via App Key Map, layer focus, you've also got Shift-X mapped to the eject of layer 1 directly. This is either in Comp Key Mapping, or in App Key Mapping, deck focus.

Just check those two modes, and then delete the duplicate mapping by pressing backspace.
