Blackmagic Micro Converter Sdi to Hdmi

Post by jaydeeshow »

Hi everyone,

I've search the blackmagic capture card but no sign of this unit, Micro Converter.

I need to stream live from 1 camera with Hdmi and ddi. This unit got my attention for the little investment.

But the question is:
Is the right thing for me, will I see the source in Resolume?
Is this ever been tested?
It looks like blackmagic has a partnership with resolute but a lot of people are finding issues.

Any help?

Thank you.

Kind regards,

Jo.

the sdi to hdmi is just a signal converter, not a capture card.

so does your camera have hdmi or sdi output?

Yes it does. And after research I've realized I need a Mini recorder. But I'm reading so many different feedback. One works the other no. Because they have restocking fee I don't want to lose money. Mini recorder should do the drill. I'm gonna test it today.
Kind regards,

Jo.

I use the Blackmagic Mini Recorders and Mini Monitors regularly and I've had no issues besides a bad unit that was DOA. My experience with Blackmagic hardware is that it's pretty much rock solid and 99.99% of the time people have issues with it is because they don't understand how to use the gear.

Keep in mind that the great majority of Blackmagic hardware is designed for broadcast which means it will NOT take typical 4:3, 5:4, 16:10 computer resolutions such as XGA, WXGA, UXGA, etc...Their gear is always compliant with Serial Digital Interface SMPTE standards even when you use HDMI so you need to be sure you can work with SD (NTSC & PAL), HD (720p, 1080p, 1080PsF & 1080i), 2K (1080p & 1080PsF), UltraHD (2160p) and 4K (DCI 4Kp) at resolutions of 23.98, 24, 25, 29.97, 30, 50, 59.94 or 60Hz Anything else won't work!

Current SDI SMPTE standards are and anything above 3G-SDI is still mostly unchartered territory:

I bought the mini recorder.
Works great but regardless the fps of the source in Resolume has to be set hdmi (of course) and 30fps... Again regardless from the source than even on 24/25 still work at 30 in Resolume.

Thx guys.
