I created a new Comp which I thought created a new preset instance. I started editing and saved only to realize that is saved over my old show!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Why are they separated! I assume there's no way to get back whats been saved over.
Why isn't a new instance of the presets saved within a comp?
Over Ridden Presets
Re: Over Ridden Presets
Oh no!
That's a bit of a problem with mixed expectations. Effect Presets are very much meant to be application wide, not limited to a comp.
I generally make presets with a little suffix in the name, if they're only meant to be used on a certain show.

Re: Over Ridden Presets
Wait. Which presets are you talking about exactly? Do you mean effect presets, or output presets?
Output presets can be saved separately from the comp: https://resolume.com/manual/en/r5/presets. This is done so you can use the same preset with different comps and the same comp with different presets.
If you don't first save the output preset under a specific name, but rather just use Save and Close without anything else, the preset is indeed overridden.

Re: Over Ridden Presets
Joris, I had saved the preset as a name, BUT didn't realize it was separate from the Comp when saved so I made a bunch of changes to the "Advanced settings" and over wrote the Preset. I have it figured out now lol.
