Does Resolume2 work with scanline converter?
How do I configure second display through scanline converter, does normal DVD MAX (Ati Theatre mode) work aswell?
Gonna use scanline converter: Sony DSC-1024G Digital scan converter .
I use mainly straight VGA cable from laptop to projector (from ATI videocard) , then Resolume uses projector as second display. First time with scanline...
No time to test before and really in hurry.
please help...

i dont have a scannie, i actually have never seen one. but i always thought, you need that kind of thang when not having a dual head option, so u can output a certain area of your display to tv or stuff like that....
however, dont get me wrong here - but i really think that reading the manual (if available) and contacting sony custom support would be the best way to get some help...

I don´t see any problems of using that.
I am using quite a lot of different switchers. Also been using scannie,
but a different one..so...

Problem is that the place where my gick is don´t have VGA-cabeling to projector, everything is going through scanline convertor to projectors...
I´d like to go through the manual, but haven´t found anything else but same specs that you´ve found...People at the place couldn´t answer also to that...
Question is more ore less, how does dual head card and resolume behaves with scanline conv? Does it work like a second monitor, so I could run Resolume normally with laptop screen? Resolume manual does not answer to scanline situation...

Haven´t use it with my new
lappie, cause I have an S-vid out.
When I did use it, it works just like an second output. Scanny just transfers the RGB signal to Comp. Also with the most of scannies it´s possible to zoom for the certain point of picture at screen, so this you last backup for using it. I really don´t
think there would be any reasons that
you could not run show with it.
The settings that you might have to do
for you computer is to fixing the right
resolution for you output monitor.
Check the link for underscan and overscan issue.
Also this Sony device looks quite fancy,
and the specs are nice, so it really should
work. I would more worried if the scanny
would be old and crappy one.

Scan converters are quite not done, now-a-days, they where made for a purpose that is not needed anymore, cause most modern laptops have s-video out.
Although expensive scanconverters 1200$+ do a niffty job, it's still an conversion, well you can understand that each 'conversion' doesn't help in image quality.
If you have no option, cause you don't have s-video out, go for a scanny, but if you upgrade to s-video go for the signal splitter! You can read more at our website; http://www.friendsofsense.com/index.php?id=01082

sorry guys but i have to argue, scan convertors is a big YES, as they offer greater quality than a composite or svideo out from any laptop or video card.
i dont know about you guys but its RARE that i ever need to stick a cable directly into a projector, as i always have a hardware mixing desk inline, offering multiple sources and my laptops/pcs acting as a sources... sorry back to my point
it is a conversion but from a nice crisp VGA out and then converted to either composite or s-video, on direct comparisons from tv out or scanned, the scanned signal, is clearer, better saturation, and all round a better image.
(apart from some really nasty cheap ones which do tend to tear)
i can highly reccomend the sony 1024 scans, but for most of us and i include myself, a more budget version is more suited to my pocket
ive tried and tested (we have 2 units) the Canopus SSC-120EX Scan Convertors (supports upto 1600x1200) and for a mere £140
with overscan.underscan (slight sizeing) area, gamma, brightness and contrast controls they really fit the bill
wanna make your output look nicer than some of the furry TV out cards, get one of these....
