Arena 5 + New user + workflow problems

Post by manueladelaborde »

Hi all :)
I am an experimental filmmaker looking to adapt my material for a live event. I have the program, seen tutorials and understood most of it but when starting I have stumbled with the next problems:

1. voice saying resolume keeps coming on
2. water mark reading resulme is in the output window
3. If I have in the top layer several files of short trigger visuals (1080) and in the layer bellow a longer main video (1080). When I try to change and trigger new top layer visuals it takes a while to load and behaves hesitant.
4. I am in a mac x (yosemite) and working of a hard-drive, I don't know if I am missing something in my setup.. I have read but don't understand much about the graphic card?
5. If anyone would be up for skype I would really appreciate it.

with much kindness :)

Here's the short answer:

Resolume doesn't just play ANY video you add well.

It relies on the DXV compressor- which uses the graphics
card to do all the hard work of loading videos.

Right now, you're adding videos which have to be loaded via the CPU.

If they were re-compressed with DXV and you had a dedicated graphics
card, they would load easily. The CPU can't do this so well.

This is all by design for the live performance aspect of Resolume.
