LOW MEMORY on advanced output

Post by elgarf »

I have LOW MEMORY warning in R5.0.2, it goes away when I'm saving (Save As command, not Save command) preset in advanced output.
There is two real screens 2048x1536 (two datapaths) and one virtual 2732x1024, about 6-7 slices on every real screen, 4 slices on virtual screen, and some masks (total about 16 slices with geometry correction and 8 masks).

My config is: PC, Win 7, 16 gb ram, GTX 780 Ti.

Do you have any ProRes files in your comp?

No, only DXV3.

Problem is: why resolume free memory on saving as, but don't free on saving advanced output preset.

For example: 1500mb ram consumption before saving as, 500mb after.

I'm assuming it has to do with the information from the advanced output living in RAM when it's not saved but that's definitely a question for the Resolume team!

A couple of questions:
  • Are you using the "Save As" in the advanced output or in the composition?
Are you experiencing the issue again after you save and run your composition for a while?

1) Save As in advanced output.
2) I'm experiencing issue again, when editing advanced output preset. If I don't open AO, low memory warning is not shown, and memory consumption is ok.

Drop us a mail@resolume.com. We're working on a fix for this, and we'd love your help testing it.

I've duplicated info by mail.

Also I saw, that Resolume eats additional memory when I switch between slices (click one slice, then click another, then click first clicked slice and so on), about 300 kb each time. This simple method increase memory consumption from 150mb to 250mb.
