Wow, I've just checked what was the Datapath FX4 was...and its cost. This is a really serious budget, way over my financial capacities...but thanks for the hint. Just in case, you wouldn't have in mind a more affordable solution?

I've just checked the Lindy 4K DisplayPort 1.2 to 4 x HDMI Video Wall Processor that you mention in the thread.
To make sur I understand well, the idea is that
- there would be a single powerful video card, such as a GTX 980 or GTX 1080 that would handle all the graphic processing, and would output two 7680 video feeds
- each of these two video feeds would be divided in 4 slices, and sent to one Lindy device
- the Lindy device would then split this signal in four 1080p signal fed through HDMI into each screen.
Did I get it :) ?

Yes you got it except that you would be sending 3840x2160 signals not 7680

Ok, it's about stacking the slices in Resolume, then.
And so, if I follow the reasoning, my composition in Resolume would therefore be 3840 x 4320, or 7680 x 2160 , divided in Resolume as 8 slices on two screens/outputs.

But since I need to keep one distinct screen for the UI, I would have to subtract one screen, and actually most probably I would have to subtract 2 (as the device doesn't support 3 screens setups), and I would have to use 3 outputs from the GTX :
- one outpout in 3840 x 2160 comprising 4 slices
- one output in 3840 x 1080
- and one output for the UI, in 1920 x 1080

Which would give me a 7 screens setup (but I'm totally ready to sacrifice one screen...until I can afford the Datapath setup you recommended!).

For you that would be possible, but I suppose I would need to get a GTX 1080 (and not a 980 or 980 Ti) to handle all all of this, am I correct?

And at the risk of repeating myself, I more than appreciate your fantastic help.

Yes, unless you use a layer to slice approach or divide the composition in sub-section using the layer router.
But since I need to keep one distinct screen for the UI, I would have to subtract one screen, and actually most probably I would have to subtract 2 (as the device doesn't support 3 screens setups), and I would have to use 3 outputs from the GTX :

No, you'd be able to get 1 UI (HDMI or DP) and 2 UHD splitters broken down in 4 screens each. For a total of 3 outputs and 9 displays and you could technically add one more splitter and have 4 outputs and 13 displays.
For you that would be possible, but I suppose I would need to get a GTX 1080 (and not a 980 or 980 Ti) to handle all all of this, am I correct?
I've run similar setups on a 980 but get the 1080 since it's the same price and it's a better card and has 8GB of VRAM.

As a note, I've run similar setups on my Macbook Pro! Take a look at this post.

Wow. I've checked out the post about your NYC project...it is extremely impressive. I have to confess I'll have to do a fair amount of research to understand the technical structure, and identify the devices that you use, but "bravo", it is not only spectacular, but beautiful too.

Thank you! That was definitely a great collaboration with two other artists (Lighting and Set Designer - Matthew Antaky and Composer - Dan Wool)

I don't mean to necro this post, but I'm trying to do something similar, and this thread has got me spooked now.

First off, I know Resolume only takes the processing power of one GPU, but it can use the outputs of all of them can't it?

If I had 3 NVS 810 (24 outputs), and a strong card like the 1080Ti, would I be able to use all of the outputs on the NVS x3?
