Ableton Push is all but here. While reading a great write-up about it on Create Digital Music I was thinking that it looks like it could be a really good controller for Resolume or VJ work as well. Has anyone tried it out yet or have any plans to get one? I would love to hear a VJ use case.

Re: Ableton Push
*bump*
I'm looking in to getting the Push to use with Resolume and wanted to know if anyone has gotten them to work together and if so how is it compatibility wise? of test on screen work, any feedback would be much appreciated.
Thx gyuys

Re: Ableton Push
hmmm...why spend 450€ on a controller which is specially made for Ableton?
Why do you pay 450 bucks? Because the guys from Ableton put all their best ideas their knowledge their technology together to build the fu**ing best controller for Ableton.
And... they did a great job! For sure!
But if you think about it.... you would only use the pads and the knobs in combination with Resolume and not all the nifty little special functions which only works with Ableton.
So...why don't you have an eye on these controllers? ....and perhaps something with faders wouldn't be bad either.

You will find many many more controllers here which are cheaper....and perhaps have more usable features as the Ableton Push-> LINK
Please don't get me wrong...I love the haptics the design the whole valence of the Ableton Push controller....and I would totally understand any person who would say to me "SHUT UP....I want this controller because it's cool...not perfect for my needs...but cool"
So - If you are such a person who would say this to me... my answer would be "GO for it - buy it - test it.... anyway...you can send it back within a couple of weeks on Amazon"
Best regards

Re: Ableton Push
Yes i totally agree which is why i wanted to know if there is any other functions that work with Resolume.
The Akai APC 40 is my 2nd choice, i'm also an Ableton user which is why i'm looking for an excuse to but the push 2 birds 1 stone. But it seems using ur logic the Akai is the best of both worlds great for Ableton and Great for Ableton.
We need more videos with ppl showing how these things hardwares work with Resolume, once i get one i'll make a short youtube video for sure!

Re: Ableton Push
I use an APC40 and I am very happy with it.
Specially because of the 16knobs what I can assign to the Composition and Layer (or clip) dashboards in Resolume. and every time U change layers the APC40 updates the values for that layer.
I just wish there was a small screen on the APC (like the one on Push) to tell me what are the effects signed to the knobs. I'd love to be ale to not having to look at my computer screen when performing, it kills the flow sometimes.
Any suggestions? even DIY suggestions are welcome

Re: Ableton Push
As someone with an Ableton Push, I think it's a great way to control Resolume. I just started using it, and its much better than the OSC app I was using from an iPad previously. Really easy to map as well.
